Vaccine Requirements
All dogs visiting Smoosh Pets for grooming services must bring proof of the following vaccinations:
DHLPP (CANINE DISTEMPER COMBO)
The canine distemper vaccination is given in rounds. The first should be given between 6 and 8 weeks, the second should be given between 10 and 12 weeks, the third between 14 and 16 weeks, and then followed up every three years.
Rabies
The rabies vaccination is required for dogs over 16 weeks old. Younger pups are expected to have had two round of the puppy starter vaccines (for Parvovirus, Hepatitis, and Distemper). They must be revaccinated every one to three years.
BORDETELLA (KENNEL COUGH)
The Bordetella (or kennel cough) vaccine is recommended by 6 weeks of age, then typically given annually.
ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR PET OWNERS:
Please note that a rabies tag on a pet collar is not acceptable proof of vaccination. All vaccinations must have been administered by a veterinarian.
